Amber with Insects - Rock #9

This piece of Baltic amber is not only beautifully polished and faceted, it features an ancient insect, a fly from some 40 million years ago! The black spot on the pictures beside the fly is a layer of organic matter, probably some bark also preserved in amber till our times.
